(August 29, 2008)—Flames flared up Friday in the ruins of the Action Pawn store in Killeen, which was gutted by a fire that started Tuesday night.
Killeen firefighters responded to a report of smoke and flames in the rubble Friday afternoon and extinguished the flare up in a matter of minutes.
The fire broke out just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at the business at the intersection of South Fort Hood Street and Central Texas Expressway.
The fire became a ragging inferno in a matter of minutes, most likely because of the number of electronics, tools and weapons inside the store.
The building and its contents are considered a total loss.
Fire investigators have traced the origin of the blaze to the southwest corner of the building.
They say the fire was accidental, but the cause has not yet been determined.
