Bombs Kill Three U.S. Soldiers Southwest Of Baghdad
Three soldiers assigned to Multinational Division Baghdad died Thursday in bombings southwest of the capital city.

(May 11, 2006)—Three soldiers assigned to Multinational Division Baghdad died Thursday when two convoys were hit by roadside bombs in Hilla southwest of Baghdad.

The first attack occurred early Thursday morning, killing one soldier, the military said.

The second happened about three hours later in the same region, killing two soldiers.

Five Iraqis also died Thursday in roadside bombings.

Meanwhile Thursday, Iraq's top Shiite cleric ordered all Shiite mosques to close for three days in a town in southern Iraq where a local Sunni Arab leader was assassinated.
