(September 5, 2008)—Three members of the Penelope High School six-man football team who were injured in a one-car rollover Friday after an afternoon pep rally at the school have been released from the hospital.

A fourth player was treated for minor injuries at the scene of the accident, which happened around 3 p.m. Friday on FM 2114 near State Hwy. 171 in Hill County.

One of the players was flown by helicopter to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Two others were taken to Hillcrest by ambulance.

Penelope was scheduled to play at Kopperl in Bosque County Friday night and coaches considered forfeiting the game, but in the end went ahead and played it.

Penelope won, 52-51.
