(September 13, 2008)—Officials were asking Houston residents Saturday to boil their water.

Mayor Bill White says there is no indication that the city's water supply is contaminated, but said it is reaching low pressure levels because of power outages affecting pumping stations.

The city is recommending boiling any water from the tap before consuming it or using it for cooking.
