Local Salvation Army Requesting Donations
A local chapter of the Salvation Army has an immediate and specific need of baby supplies for Hurricane Ike evacuees.

(September 17, 2008)—The Killeen Salvation Army announced early Wednesday an immediate need for powdered baby formula and jars of baby food for Ike evacuees.

The Salvation Army is currently providing food for the Killeen/Harker Heights shelters, but was not prepared to provide for baby food and formula.

Some baby supplies have already been purchased by the shelters, but their funds remain limited, and they expect to operate the shelters for approximately 3 more days.

Anyone who can provide the formula and food should take it to the Killeen Community Center. It will be used for babies at the Community Center and at the Teen Center.

For more information on the specific needs or to find out more about the Killeen Salvation Army, contact Mary Dell Tolcher at 254.319.6303.
