Raid On Rural Residence Nets 2,100 Marijuana Plants Save Email Print

A | A | A

(September 17, 2008)—Navarro County authorities say they seized about 2,100 marijuana plants ranging in size from knee-high to 10-feet in height.

The Navarro County Sheriff’s Office raided the residence around 9 a.m. Tuesday on County Road NW0145 south of Rice in the northern part of the county and found the plants growing in a wooded area south of the home.

Deputies arrested Jesus Omera Robles, 32, of Rice, who remained in the Navarro County Jail Wednesday, charged with possession of marijuana over 50 pounds, but under 2,000 pounds.

His bond is set at $5,000.

It’s the third rural marijuana-growing operation deputies have raided so far this year.

To Willie's Niece - did you know that almost without exception, most people who end up on hard drugs - and a life of crime to support their drug habits - started out by experimenting with marijuana? Did you know that dealers often give away samples of their pot to children in order to get the kids hooked and coming back for more (even though potheads say you can't get hooked)? Did you know that people kill each other over "just some plants"? Did you know that it is proven that long-term use of pot damages the brain? Don't believe me, look up the facts for yourself.

Just because other states have legalized it doesnt make it right and doesnt mean its going to happen here anytime soon. Its illegal and I have no problem with raids on people growing it, people selling it or people using it. As far as I am concerned they can build special prisons JUST for Marijuana users. They can grow thier own crops and smoke till thier lungs collapse.

Illegal?..I didnt read he was an illegal. hmm only illegals deal w/ drugs?. i hope Guy from Mcgregor is being sarcastic. Tim i think u have it flipped!..lol.. ME- ur an idiot!.seriously. U make ur self sound so dumb when commenting. And patriot, i think ur statistics are wrong. Look it up honey.

El Diablo - What the heck you doing in her house? Getting decorating tips. For all you people going on about Mexicans. Quit lumping all hispanics together under the illegal umbrella. To all the hispanics, quit throwing out the crazy white columbine kids and psycho moms. Dayum

Dang, ya'll act like this guy hurt someone. It's just some plants. He had a nice collection of one of God's greatest inventions. Heck, it's already legal in a few states. It's just a matter of time before it will be legal here in Texas. Do ya'll realize that marijuana raids waste the tax payers money. Eventually they will win. Our society is such a mess right now. They need to put their time and efforts more into the more serious crimes.

Katarina in Waco: You are probably an illegal too....

Posted by: thisguy on Sep 18, 2008 at 09:27 AM
where in this story does it mention that the guy is illegal? you morons read a spanish name and already make assumptions...the assumptions myself and possible other ppl are making about you idiots are that yall were the kinda folks whose mother made out with her cousing one too many times and it resulted in you ignorant non-illegals (have better terms to use but im tryin to be as nice as possible)...what you dont know is that possibly your family members are buying stuff from these illegals and helping them to grow these 2100 plants? ever thought about that before pointing fingers?

Posted by: losers Location: tx on Sep 18, 2008 at 08:05 AM
no where in this article does it say he was illegal you people need to get a life

Posted by: Patriot Location: Texas on Sep 18, 2008 at 07:56 AM
Katrina, yes it is 2008 which means 1 out of 4 is an illegal. Who's fault is it that 99.9% of all illegals are one race? This is the 3rd marijuana-growing operation raided this year in rural Navarro and the same county where the large cock-fighting ring was busted not too long ago. That's a popular and legal sport south of the border....right? He may not be an illegal but I have no doubt that he has friends that are, helping with his "crops" just like (you do). I believe there's a zero missing on the bond....should read $50,000.

Posted by: tam Location: killeen on Sep 18, 2008 at 07:45 AM
Right on Joe! $5,000.00? Someone go find that Judge that had the %1,000,000 bond on the 17 year old that died in his custody, get a rope!!!

Posted by: El Diablo Location: Hell on Sep 18, 2008 at 06:40 AM
2100 plants? That's nothing. My neighbor has 200 cats living in her house. And she has kept every newspaper since 1966. Pathways through the house. But watch out for the cats. They have the right of way.

It's easy to get over it. Just shoot anyone coming across the Rio Grande, the desert, or whatever with Mexico. That should slow them down a bit. Illegal immigrant or not, what he was doing was very illegal. Pot farms, rape, armed robbery, and murder are against the law in this country. Apparently, it is allowed in Mexico.

Posted by: Tim Location: Waco on Sep 18, 2008 at 02:50 AM
If he was white they would have stuck it to him they wouldnt have gave him a bond and if they did it would have been so high no one could have gotten him out.

Posted by: Katarina Location: Wacko Texas on Sep 17, 2008 at 10:57 PM
It Figures all of you making comments on illegals again, Where did it say He is an illegal?? Spanish name is all it takes with you racist sickos, illegals arent the only ones dealing or raising illegal drugs, whites, blacks & other nationalities have beencharged with the same or more serious charges so try to read about those but of course you dont know how to read between the lines because of his race!! $5,000 bond is too low for this man they should have had a higher bond!! A proud, born & raised hispanic woman living in this wacko town!! it's 2008 some of you need to get over it already!!

Posted by: whatever Location: waco on Sep 17, 2008 at 10:47 PM
Blame illegals again. What race are the majority of stalkers? What race are the Columbine kids? What race is the girl who was beating up old ladies and stealing from them? Get a life..You are all idiots, one week blaming the blacks and the next week your blaming mexicans. No race is exempt from ignorance. Drugs are everywhere, your kids just have to open up the medicine cabinet to get a high. Why do you think some drugs aren't OTC anymore?

Posted by: milidude Location: centex on Sep 17, 2008 at 06:31 PM
yea, i thought so, no courage to print my comment(the truth) your just another useless appendage of the lamestream news

Posted by: milidude Location: centex on Sep 17, 2008 at 04:55 PM
the bond was requested by taco bell, so that he can pay it and then run for the border. this is what all these illegal scumbags do when they get here, they just import their criminal ways with them/commit their crimes/then run for the border. they sure do know where mexico is when the LAW is looking for them!.

Posted by: Guy Location: mcgregor on Sep 17, 2008 at 04:54 PM
I forgot, only illegals deal with drugs.

Posted by: Joe on Sep 17, 2008 at 04:24 PM
Cops rais and arrest and the Liberal judges let them go with a low bond. maybe he should steal a car and his bond would be set at $1,000,000!!!

Posted by: Me Location: Waco on Sep 17, 2008 at 02:48 PM
Well here we go again with another illegal...Go back home...

Posted by: Just sayin is all Location: Ft Hood on Sep 17, 2008 at 12:22 PM
Good, get it all.
