TSA Badges, Uniforms Missing
A San Antonio TV station has discovered that hundreds of airport security badges and uniforms are missing around the country.

(May 24, 2006)--A San Antonio television station reports it has found that hundreds of federal airport security badges and uniform items are missing.
WOAI TV in San Antonio cites documents obtained from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration under the federal Freedom of Information Act.
It reports the records document that more than 1,400 TSA employee ID badges and uniform items have been reported lost or stolen since 2003.
Los Angeles had the most reports of missing ID badges with 120.
Chicago O'Hare was next with 115, while Dallas-Fort Worth led the list in Texas with 42.
The station aired video showing TSA employees bypassing security checkpoints on the strength of their ID badges and uniforms.
Congressman Lamar Smith of San Antonio is a member of the U.S.House Homeland Security Committee.
He says he's introduced legislation to enhance the protection of TSA badges and uniforms.
He also wants airports to fine TSA employees for badge and uniform losses.
