Local Police Officer Injured After High Speed Chase

(June 12, 2006)—A Nolanville police officer was injured Monday at the end of a chase that reached speeds of more than 100 miles an hour.

The driver the officer was pursuing was also injured.

The chase started just after 10 a.m. Monday in Killeen after KISD police tried to pull over an SUV because of suspicious activity.

The pursuit went through Killeen, Nolanville and Belton and ended when the SUV ran into the back of a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was not seriously hurt, but was taken to an area hospital.

The Nolanville officer was injured while trying to arrest the driver, who was also hurt.

Both were taken to a local hospital, but neither was believed to be seriously injured.
