(October 6, 2008)—The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Monday it has found melamine contamination in Blue Cat Flavor Drinks and warned the public not to consume the products.

The FDA said the distributor, Tristar Food Wholesale, Inc., has recalled several flavors of the drink in response to the FDA’s findings.
The FDA has stepped up testing for the industrial chemical in the wake of the scandal involving contaminated Chinese dairy products.
Last month, the FDA issued an alert about the recall of seven Mr. Brown instant coffee and milk tea products because of possible contamination with melamine.
The recalled products are:
Mr. Brown Mandheling Blend Instant Coffee (3-in-1)
Mr. Brown Arabica Instant Coffee (3-in-1)
Mr. Brown Blue Mountain Blend Instant Coffee (3-in-1)
Mr. Brown Caramel Macchiato Instant Coffee (3-in-1)
Mr. Brown French Vanilla Instant Coffee (3-in-1)
Mr. Brown Mandhling Blend instant Coffee (2-in-1)
Mr. Brown Milk Tea (3-in-1)
The FDA is also advising consumers not to purchase infant formula manufactured in China, which may be available over the Internet or from other sources.
