(October 8, 2008)—Killeen Municipal Court, the City Marshal's Office, and Killeen Police Department are conducting a Warrant Roundup during the month of October.

Beginning October 20, citizens who have a warrant with the Killeen Municipal Court can voluntarily and pay their fines without being arrested.

However, the city is warning that, after the grace period ends October 31, anyone with unpaid warrants will be subject to arrest.

The City of Killeen has added personnel to their dispatch and jail staff to accommodate a large number of arrests.

City officials say that in order to avoid being arrested at home or at a place of employment, citizens must come to the Killeen Municipal Court and take care of their fines as soon as possible.

No specific details of the pending warrant roundup were released by the city.

The City of Killeen has listed persons with active warrants on its website.

The court accepts payments of cash, money order, or Visa/MasterCard but no personal checks.

Fines can be paid online at www.ci.killeen.tx.us or OfficialPayments.com.

Payments can be made over the phone, toll free at 1-888-462-1156.

Citizens can also mail their payments into the Killeen Municipal Court at P.O. Box 1329, Killeen, Texas 76540-1329 or pay them in person at 200 East Avenue D in Downtown Killeen.
