(October 10, 2008) - A legislative panel has found Alaska Governor and Republican Vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her authority in firing the state's public safety commissioner.
The investigative report says other factors may have contributed to the firing of Walter Monegan but a family grudge could have also been a reason.
Palin is accused of firing Monegan to settle a family dispute.
According to the former commissioner, he was dismissed after he refused to fire a state trooper involved in a divorce with Governor Palin's sister.
Palin's supporter are calling the investigation politically motivated.
