(October 15, 2008)—Investigators said Wednesday they think a nearby lightning strike may have caused an early-morning house fire that claimed the life of a Woodway woman.
The victim was identified Wednesday as Sarah Warden, 87.
The fire broke out around 3 a.m. Oct. 7 in Warden’s home at 13854 Harbor Dr.
The flames could be seen from Highway 84.
Firefighters were unable to get inside the burning home to reach the elderly woman.
“When we got here [the structure] was fully involved,” said Chief Yost Zakhary.
In 2005, Woodway firefighters responded to a fire at that same house.
The cause of the 2005 fire was electrical in nature, Zakhary said.
