(October 17, 2008)--South Texas authorities said Friday they won't be intimidated by increasingly violent drug smugglers as they announced a larger Border Patrol presence along the Mexican border and said more heavily armed deputies will be authorized to return fire across the border.

Operation "River Freedom Denial" will focus more ground and air recourses on areas along the Rio Grande in the southern tip of Texas where violence has been increasing.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said the deputies he'll assign to the operation along the river will all be issued fully automatic rifles and authorized to return fire.

He recalled an incident in 2006 in which more than 300 shots were fired across the river at his deputies and Border Patrol agents.

At that time, he decided to pull his deputies back from the river for their safety, but not this time.

Tension along the border has increased this week with a shootout Thursday in downtown Matamoros, Mexico, across the river from Brownsville.

Also, shots were fired at or near the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey, Mexico twice this week.

Mexico has chosen sides for the money. The money from the U.S. is all important to keep a corrupt mexican government in power. Per mexican government official the money from the U.S. (in the form of Western Union transfers) is beginning to dry up, therefore those on the border believe they are entitled and therefore by any means necessary should take from those that have. Difficult times lay ahead, as each of us know, but the illegals must leave and must stay out of the U.S. We are losing American citizens lives to the illegals at a rate of 25 lost lives per day, according to Congressional records. The time for talk with the illegals has long passed since this invasion is costing American lives. I support any stance which reminds the illegals the laws of the U.S. cannot be violated without consequences.

Good. "Smith's Frozen Foods" is also a good place to go Hunting for Mexicans. Americans protecting their own lives against people trying to murder them (or use them for target practice). What a novel idea. Go guys, Go! And don't stop at the Rio Grande!
