(October 21, 2008)—A fire that broke out late Tuesday afternoon in the bedroom of a home in Temple left the four residents at least temporarily homeless.

The fire in the 200 block of North 6th Street in Temple was reported just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Twenty-one Temple firefighters were dispatched to the home.

When they arrived they found flames and heavy smoke coming from the bedroom.

After they put the flames out, investigators determined a TV set in the bedroom ignited the fire.

A smoke detector alerted the four adults who were in the home at the time to the fire and they all escaped without injury, Temple Fire and Rescue said.

The American Red Cross was providing assistance to the displaced residents Tuesday night.
