Local Funeral Home After State Issues Cease And Desist Order
A Central Texas funeral home that was selling prepaid funeral benefit contracts without a required permit has closed after the state issued a cease and desist order.

(October 23, 2008)—A Waco funeral home that The Texas Department of Banking says was selling prepaid funeral benefit contracts without a required permit has closed.

The agency issued a Cease and Desist Order to Frank Hesbrook, owner of Calvary Funeral Home, on Sept. 19.

Under the order, Hesbrook was directed to stop selling the benefit contracts and collecting money for them.

The order became final on Oct. 8, the agency said, and the funeral home is now closed.

Anyone who purchased a prepaid benefit contract from Hesbrook or the funeral home shoul contact the Department of Banking to verify status of the contract and to get information about options.
