(October 24, 2008)—There are some important recalls for consumers to be aware of this week.
A toymaker is recalling a handheld game know to cause burns to the hand while a lawn mower distributor is recalliing a mower that can leak gasoline.
The toymaker Leapfrog, who makes educational electronic games for children, is recalling the batteries and charger for its Didj game system.
The recharging station and batteries have been known to overheat increasing chances of receiving burns to the hand; one case has already been reported.
The Didj, itself, can still be used with the AC adapter.
Consumers who purchased one of the systems between July and October are asked to contact leapfrog for a refund.
Anyone who has a Murray riding lawn mower in the last six months will need to check to make sure their mower is not under recall.
The mower's gas tank can develop a leak in its seam.
The mowers were available from april through september.
Consumers who have one of these riding mowers can contact the dealership where the mower was purchased for a free repair.
