(October 29, 2008)--A Texas woman who went to an auction expecting strangers bid on her foreclosed home instead watched as another woman whom she did not know bid on the house and then gave it back to her.

Tracy Orr will remain in her Pottsboro home, making payments to the woman who unexpectedly and impulsively bought it for her.

She told Dallas TV station WFAA that Marilyn Mock's unexpected kindness "means so much to all of us."

Mock says she was acting on instinct when she decided to buy a house she had never seen for a woman she had never met.

Mock was at the foreclosure auction to help her 27-year-old son bid on a house when she struck up a conversation with Orr, who was crying about the loss of her home.

Orr bought the house for $80,000 in 2004 but fell behind on the payments.

Mock decided to buy it on the spot, ultimately bidding $30,000 to purchase the property.

Mock told a sobbing Orr she could stay in the house, and make payments to her instead of to a bank.

"Anybody else would have done the same thing,” Mock said.

That is so awesome. That lady didn't even know her and gave her a gift of a lifetime. These are the stories worth reading. God bless them both.

I wish I could find a Good Samaritan. Where are they? That was very nice of that woman to do that. Some of us need all the help we can get and nobody really gives a crap.

God bless channel 10 for putting this story on here. With so much involved with crime, arson, politics, drugs, death row...etc...the news has been pretty depressing. This is a heartwarming story that America needs to hear in these times of struggle. Bless them both!

Well, I'll be...there really are some cool people left in this increasingly evil world. Why can't the news be 99% this kind of story and 1% crap? God bless this woman and her gesture.

This is the spirit of the American people. When our neigbor is down, we band together and help each other out. We don't need or want government bailouts for everyone and everything. If government will get out of the way, the decency of the citizens shines through!

Finally,a story that isn't about politics or someone getting hurt ! This is truley amazing. I wish the best to both of these people. There are still wonderful people in this world :)

Now that is a kind gesture. Wouldn't it be great if more people who were able to do things like that did it for other people. I plan on making a lot of money in the future. When I do, one thing I will do is help those that are having a hard time with things. Bills, food, just anything. If was able to buy someone's house and turn around and give it to them, I would do it also.
