(July 16, 2006)--A former elementary school teacher who said she shot her minister husband in self defense has been convicted of murder.
The sentencing phase in the trial of 49-year-old Sharon Rossum Daniels of Henderson begins Tuesday in the Rusk County Courthouse.
Jurors deliberated for more than eight hours Friday before finding her guilty of murder shortly before midnight.

Sharon Daniels' defense attorneys said she suffered verbal abuse and was suffering from post-traumatic syndrome.
Sharon Daniels, who taught at Jodie McClure Elementary in Longview, faces up to life in prison. She is free on bail pending sentencing.
