(November 4, 2008)—A six-month search for evidence in the slaying of a Blinn College coed has led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Bryan man who was in custody Tuesday, charged with murder.

Jeremiah Rosser was arrested at his residence Monday morning in Bryan.

Jenna Verhaalen, 20, was found strangled in her apartment at the Autumn Woods Apartment Complex in Bryan.

According to court documents, Rosser's DNA was found under Verhaalen's fingernails and traces of his blood were found on the collar of her shirt.

Rosser said he was not in the apartment on the night of the murder and denies killing Verhaalen.

Police said they don't have a motive yet and said there is no apparent connection between the two, other than that Rosser worked at the apartment complex.

Rosser’s bond was set at $175,000.

Some of you people are ridiculous. His DNA was found under her fingernails and the blood on her shirt matched his. As someone mentioned before, DNA doesn't lie. The laptop stolen from someone's apartment in the same complex as Jenna's was found in his vehicle, he had access to the complex by the keys found in his possession. These are all strong connections. It doesn't matter what kind of person he may have come off as, half of the people suspected and found guilty of murder have had good reputations according to friends and family and don't fit the generalized characteristics of a murderer. He IS a low life and took someone else's life for his own gratification and it's only a matter of time before he's finally found guilty.
