Former Central Texas School Teacher Indicted For Sexual Assault Of A Child

(November 5, 2008)—Tara Allison Hodges, 26, a former teacher at Waco’s Brazos Middle School, who was charged in August after an investigation of allegations she had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student was named in a 10-count indictment Wednesday charging sexual assault of a child.

The investigation into the alleged relationship started after the teacher filed a false report of a sexual assault, authorities said.

According to the affidavit issued in August for Hodges’ arrest, the relationship started on June 6, 2008.

The affidavit says Hodges picked the student up in her car that evening and drove him to her apartment where the two smoked marijuana.

After that, the affidavit says Hodges performed oral sex on the student before having sex with him.

The two had sex at least ten separate times, and on several of those occasions, they smoked marijuana, the affidavit said.

Investigators said the student was given money and on two occasions, shoes were purchased for him.

Hodges was released after posting $300,000 bond in August.

JJ can you please get real. Predators do not pick some hot jock or popular child to sleep with (you know the kind of kid that has the confidence to tell an authoritive figure to bug off). A predator chooses a child that is shy, quite, seeking approval from adults or is just to scared to say no. She picked a victim and she should be prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law.

14 he knew what he was doing if they are going to punish her they need to punish him too! Come on people this kid was having a good time. He probbly bragged to all his friends on what he was getting and the word got out and that was it In my high sch.some of the guys where telling us they where having sex with the pe teacher or coaches and they probbly where Look 14yr old girls and boys are not like they where when we where young they have sex all the time it doesnt bother any one but the older people but when they get caught its rap or I didnt want to do they mad me kids today or not kids of yesterday.

The 14 yr old knows right from wrong as does this lady. If anything, he should have told someone but b/c he was receiving money and she was buying him things of course he was not going to say a thing. He was taught about drugs in school he is not that innocent. He might need to go into rehab himself for the drugs he did b/c he may doing marijuana now but it could escalate to more than just that. He also may need to go counseling.

I totally agree that it is wrong whether or not it is a female or male. And she should serve some time for this. It was totally wrong! When I said, she was questionable at time, it meant that she had little to none common sense.

To Love: You stated "she is sweet, but a little questionable at times"???? I'd say this was one of those times, wouldn't you? Fortunately for her she is a woman, blond, and at least fair looking. She'll get probation at the most. The 14 year old knew what he wanted and she was apparently more than willing to give it to him. Sadly, this is happening a lot with teachers. IT IS A CRIME NO MATTER IF IT IS MALE TEACHER TO FEMALE STUDENT OR FEMALE TEACHER TO MALE STUDENT AND NEEDS TO BE PUNISHED THE SAME WAY WITH PRISON TIME AND PREDATOR REGISTRATIONS! Maybe we should consider making the sentencing MANDATORY PRISON, no probation...maybe that will help in making these women realise they cannot be sexually abusing these kids! The men already know this because they will get prison time, every time! THE SADEST PART IS, SOCIETY LOOKS AT SOME LOW LIFE WOMAN HAVING SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH A YOUNG BOY DIFFERENTLY THAN SOME LOW LIFE MAN HAVING SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH A YOUNG GIRL....

Funny, she must not be too innocent they are charging her with 10 counts, they didnt just pull them out of the sky, they came from somewhere. What makes me not like her anymore is that she was going to file false charges on him and ruin his life when she was the one willing and in the wrong.

Aww! I have mixed feelings. I adult should know better than to involve themselves with a child. She knew that this was a child and yet she still went too far. I have worked with Ms. Hodges and she is sweet, but a little questionable at times.
