(November 8, 2008)—Fort Worth animal control officers have found about 100 dead cats wrapped in foil in three refrigerators in a woman's house.

Authorities also seized five live dogs and other live cats.

A police report says officers had a warrant to seize cruelly treated animals.

Officers were "overwhelmed" with an odor of urine and feces and saw extremely poor living conditions.

It's not too surprising. If you ever get a chance to do so, watch "Animal Cops: " series from Houston, Detroit, Phoenix, Miami, or New York on Animal Planet. Cat & dog hoarders, cat & puppy mills gone wrong, etc., it's out there. What'll be even more humbling is to volunteer at a shelter on the receiving end of such a case. Once we learn more about it, we can do more to help prevent it, first, and then fix it when it does happen.

How sad, obviously there is absolutly no way this woman was working at full mental capacity. Sure would have been nice if the reporter would have offered more information, thot reported WANT interesting stories..why waste this one? Why did it get so far that it wasn't discoverd til she had 3 refridgerators full of cat. Hope she wasn't a cook at a local food line...yak!!

Can you just imagine being the person to make this "unusual" discovery? Bless their hearts - disgusting!!!!

Most of the comments I have read are absolutely ridiculous! The poor woman needs to be evaluated by a psychiatrist. It is not normal behavior to wrap a dead cat in foil and put it in your frig!!

Ok, after reading all these outlandish comments, I got my laugh for the day!! I know this is serious, but some of the comments were hilarious.

Maybe she was testing the 9 lives theory...

I feel so sad for the lady. The article doesn't say (another instance of incomplete reporting), but I'm assuming she was elderly. Obviously her mental capabilities were not sound. With so many deceased pets, I'll bet she was a sweet little old lonely lady that couldn't turn down a stray, but couldn't afford to feed them either. Then she kept her deceased pets because she didn't know what to do with them, because she couldn't stand the thought of burying them or didn't have the means to bury them, or -as others have said - she was afraid that at some point that she might have to resort to eating them. Probably it's time for her to go to a nursing home, where having food is not a worry, and she won't be allowed to keep stray animals; and the other residents can keep her company.

She was planning a BBQ for the Baylor baseball team.

Well, this article is about as informative as they can get. I especially enjoyed how it informed readers/viewers of the possible charges coming to the woman or perhaps whether or not they were going to test her for mental issues.

Ok, so if this woman had them wrapped in foil, she probably planned on eating them. I bet she had them sauteed so she could just throw them on the bbq pit.....what a psycho - this is disgusting and sick! POOR CATS!!!

Take one scoop of ice cream. Add a can of root beer. Stir in one frozen cat. Serve.
