(November 13, 2008)—Two men were in custody Thursday after a watchful neighbor called police when he saw the men break into a house at around 11:30 am Tuesday.

Killeen police officers responded to the mid-day burglary in the 2300 block of Sunny Lane, near the intersection of South WS Young Drive in Killeen.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found an open window; police immediately surrounded the house.

The two burglars who were attempting to exit the back door saw the police officers then turned and ran out the front door where they were ordered to the ground

The two men were taken into custody.

Marcos Frankie Borday, 18, of Killeen and Novell Conner, Jr., 20, of Killeen were charged Wednesday with burglary of a habitation.

Bonds for both were set at $50,000; the two remain in the Bell County Jail.

Happy ending to this story, and 2 thumbs up to the nosey neighbor, i too find myself sometimes looking out the window when i'm home to see if there is anything strange going on around my neighborhood, so sometimes it pays to be nosey, or in this case they say watchful, and good job to the police officers that responded in a timely manner

Too bad the Officers didn't have probable cause to shoot both of them on the spot!!! Back-To-The-Future!!

Too bad they didn't try to fight back and get shot dead. Personally, I think they should be sentenced to Huntsville Prison for years of hard labor where they can get to know (up close and personal) their fellow criminals....especially the one universally interested in "advancing" a young criminal's understanding of prison life and how to make and impress new prison "friends". These people need to be reminded daily that they do not have the right to harm others and steal their property. It cost money to buy the stuff these people tried to steal. Money is a measurement of time costs from the owners sweat and hard work. So essentially these scum were trying to steal a part of someone's life! Jail them! Keep them in jail for years!

Bell county sounds like they need to start handing out alot of time for clowns like this, and hope Mclennan county follows. Thats why we have so much crime in both counties, alot of these punks and only getting slaps on the hands for the things they are doing. Word of mouth travels fast on the street
