(November 19, 2008)--Leon County authorities were looking Wednesday for two burglars who are believed to be armed and dangerous.

On Monday, a homeowner interrupted the two as they were trying to load his gun safe from his garage.

The duo took off and the resident fired at them with his hunting rifle.

Other items were missing from the home, including jewelry.

Officials are looking for a 2002 to 2004 beige Lincoln Town Car that may have bullet holes and damage to the front passenger side.

It was last seen traveling east on FM 977 at US-75 at a high rate of speed.

The suspects are white.

One is a man, but it’s not clear whether the second was a man or a woman.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Leon County Sheriff's Office at 903-536-2749.

When will those bad guys learn that us law abiding citizens protect ourselves??? And you just never know who has a surprise for them when they come into OUR homes!! Good job on the homeowners part. Too bad you missed though so they could have been caught.

Hey round here I didnt write this story and if you read it clearly states the suspects were white which means they made it about race and considering stories such as this in the past where the suspects where not white the home owner seems to always get charged with a crime . So its not me who's being a racist its our society as a whole, dont blame me for pointing to the truth. Besides that I dont believe that law you speak of allows the home owner to shoot at a fleeing crook , I could be wrong but I think its allowed when you feel your in danger and this guy wasnt in any danger if the crooks were high tailing it. Never the less I would have done the same as this fellow ....

He better be glad they were white because if they hadn't ben and were caught he would get sued because they were traumatized by those nasty bullets. and gasp he could be charged with a hate crime.

To George: Seriously, they would be in jail for assault if they were of any color other than white? Wow...that has racism written all over it. Last I heard, the Castle Doctrine gave the right to everyone of any color. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ABOUT RACE?! Enough with the freakin' obsession!!!

This person would be in jail for assault if he were to shoot at a fleeing crook other than white in color....

good thing we still have the 2nd ammendment

when shooting at a fleeing crook, its best to shoot at the door just in front of the handle, then before you run out of ammo shoot the engine, about 6"above the tire, if the vehicle is coming at you, make sure to put a few rounds in the radiator and the rest in the driver. if you are behind the vehicle, put a few in the gas tank, unfotunatly it wont explode but at least they wont get as far away. this has been a public service anouncement.

Only problem I see with this is that owner didn't hit them. Too bad, could have saved a lot of court cost when and if there caught.

It's ashamed he did not kill them both!!! It's going to get worse before it gets better!! Back-To-The-Future!!
