(August 3, 2006)—Troy Mayor Sammy Warren was serving as interim police chief Thursday and the Troy Police Department has been locked down to maintain the integrity of an ongoing investigation of suspended Police Chief David Seward, Warren said.
Troy’s city council meets again Friday to discuss the situation.
Meanwhile Warren told News Ten that police are still patrolling the town.
The council placed Seward on administrative leave with pay on July 11 while the investigation was underway.
Ten days later the council decided Seward should remain on leave, but without pay.
Council members have not provided details of the purpose or findings of the investigation.
“The assessment is administrative in nature, and primarily concerns management issues,” the city said in a press release issued last month.
“Chief Seward remains a respected member of the community and has not formally been accused of any wrongdoing,” the press release said.
