(November 21, 2008)—Two Corsicana teenagers died Thursday night when the 1994 Honda Civic in which they were riding veered into the path of an oncoming 1997 Ford F-350 pickup truck on State Highway 31, about 2 miles west of Kerens in Navarro County.
The Department of Public Safety identified the victims as Aaron Jefferson Tesmer, 17, and Jacob Madden Darby, 17, who the DPS said was driving the car.
Justice of the Peace Kirby Hill pronounced the teenagers dead at the scene at 8:45 p.m. Thursday.
The driver of the truck, Robert Duane Carpenter, 23, of Corsicana, was not injured.
A passenger in the truck, Anthony Wayne Skinner, 22, of Corsicana, received minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Navarro Regional Hospital.
The DPS said the teens were westbound on Highway 31 just before 8 p.m. Thursday when the car crossed the turn lane into the path of the eastbound pickup truck, which struck the Civic on the right passenger side.
