(November 24, 2008)—An American Airlines pilot was taken to an Austin hospital Saturday evening after someone flashed what was described as an intense green laser at the cockpit of a plane that was on approach for a landing at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, according to an incident log posted on the Federal Aviation Administration Web Site

It happened when the McDonnell Douglas MD-82 was about 10 minutes out from the airport on a flight from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

The plane landed safely just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Now that the article has been properly proofread, I wonder where in the heck this laser came from, was it purposely directed at the plane or an accident? WTH?

Error....No error.... The point is that the pilot could have been seriously injured, or worse yet the plane could have been brought down by this stupidity. Are we missing the point here?
