Fort Hood Soldier From Texas Dies In Rescue Attempt
A Fort Hood soldier from Texas has died of in injuries he received while attempting to rescue another soldier during a reconnaissance mission in Iraq, the military said Monday.

(November 24, 2008)—Fort Hood Sgt 1st Class Miguel A. Wilson, 36, of Bonham died Friday in Abu Sayf, Iraq, of injuries he received during an attempt to rescue another soldier while on a reconnaissance mission, the military said Monday.

Other details were not released.

Wilson was assigned to Fort Hood’s 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment.

yes the soldier survived..i'm the mother of miguel's 3 children..miguel was a very brave, strong, individual, not only for the military but for his kids..he died doing what he loved, helping others and doing his job..his son and 2 daughters miss him deeply..some bonds will never break, words cant express what we are feeling...we greatly appreciate everyones prayers

HERO'S (sorry, might have misspelled)...that is what they are called. True BRAVERY acknowledged. And the status of the other soldier he was trying to rescue? R.I.P. brave hero!
