(November 24, 2008) - One man was arrested, and two people were taken to the hospital Monday night after a crash in Bell County.

The Department of Public Safety says the accident happened on Farm-to-Market Road 3481 just north of the Lampasas River Bridge.

DPS Trooper Carl Pierce said a driver lost control of a car, which crossed into on-coming traffic.

Pierce says the driver of a passenger van swerved to avoid the car, before slamming on the brakes.

That passenger van was then rear-ended by a pick-up truck.

DPS says the driver of that truck was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and was taken to the Killeen City Jail.

Meanwhile, the driver of the car had to be cut out of the vehicle, and was taken to Scott & White Hospital by helicopter.

The driver of the passenger van was also taken to the hospital.

Both are expected to be OK, authorities said.
