(November 30, 2008)--Federal officials say Houston has become the top source of firearms for Mexican drug cartel gangsters, who spend millions in the city on military-style weapons and ammunition to use in their ongoing clashes with Mexican society and government.

More than 4,000 people have died in Mexico's criminal underworld violence this year.

Mexican officials estimate 90 percent of nearly 27,000 weapons seized from stash houses or recovered from crime scenes in the past two years originated in the United States.

Federal law enforcement officials say gangsters have chosen Houston because of its numerous gun shops, its proximity to the border and its long-established networks for smuggling narcotics into the United States.

Authorities say a number of crimes including a massacre in 2007 in Acapulco illustrate the carnage from guns purchased in Houston that ended up in the hands of ruthless killers.

Outlawing guns just keeps the honest man honest. The military needs to go in and clean these thug's clock, but that won't happen because half of these people that are elected into government positions are involved in bringing the dope into this country.

And do you know what will happen if we outlaw guns??? Do you think that will solve the problem??? All it will do is raise the price, they will buy and sell just as many. Remember, an armed society is a polite society.
