(November 30, 2008)—The state Fire Marshal’s Office has wrapped up its investigation of a fire that claimed the life of an elderly disabled Robertson County man, but a ruling is still pending.
A relative found Curtis Edwards, 81, dead on Thanksgiving Day inside his burned out home off Pin Oak Road just outside of Franklin in Robertson County.
Edwards was last seen alive Wednesday evening when family members dropped by with a meal.
It appears the fire started either late Wednesday night or early Thursday.
The flames evidently trapped Edwards.
Investigators said they found no indication of foul play and said at this point it appears the fire was accidental.
Edwards did have a wood heater, but at this point investigators don’t know if it could have sparked the fire.
