TxDOT To Change Traffic Pattern At Major Intersection Save Email Print

A | A | A

(December 02, 2008)—As a part of an ongoing construction project, the Texas Department of Transportation will change traffic patterns at a major intersection in one local city.

Starting Wednesday, TxDOT will change how traffic flows across the 31st Street Bridge at Loop 363 in Temple.

Northbound 31st Traffic will shift to the east across the newly constructed bridge.

Southbound traffic will remain in its current location until additional concrete pavement is placed in the intersections.

Westbound traffic intersecting at 31st Street, adjacent to the bridge, will have a new stop bar; the new location will be signed "Stop here on Red".

Due to the space limitations for traffic on the bridge, pedestrian traffic will not be allowed on the bridge until further notice.

The work is part of the Loop 363 project, widening the existing 4-lane divided roadway travel lanes and shoulders, increasing frontage roads capacity to a minimum of three-lanes and adding continuous turn lanes to the 31st Street bridge, as well as improving the north/south approaches to the bridge from 31st Street.

TxDOT advises motorists to be patient, cautious and follow posted directional signs and other traffic control devices in the work zone.
