(December 2, 2008)—A missing Temple man with Alzheimer’s disease who was the focus of a police search that escalated after officers lost the signal from his tracking device was found safe late Tuesday morning.
The 70-year-old man disappeared Tuesday morning after leaving home in his car accompanied by a grandchild to drive to City Hall to pay a ticket.
Police were initially able to track the man through the device he was wearing, but lost the signal after the man drove onto North Loop 360.
An officer spotted the man’s car around 11:30 pm. and pulled it over.
Police said the man and his grandchild were fine.
