Class Ring Lost In 1987 In Texas Lake Found In A Fish Save Email Print

A | A | A

(December 3, 2008)--A class ring that was lost in 1987 in a lake in East Texas has turned up inside a fish that was caught the day after Thanksgiving.

Joe Richardson of Buna told The Associated Press Wednesday that he wishes he knew "how many fish it's been in."

Richardson was fishing at Lake Sam Rayburn about two weeks after his 1987 graduation from Universal Technical Institute in Houston when he lost the ring.

The 41-year-old mechanic said he received a call on Nov. 28 from a fisherman who had reeled in a more than 8-pound bass.

The ring the fisherman found in the fish had "Joe Richardson" etched in the band.

Richardson says the fisherman did an Internet search and made several calls before reaching him and returning the ring.

Very kewl story! If anybody catches a striper out of Lake Whitney that's wearing sunglasses, check for a wallet too...I lost both there about 10 years ago.

A pat on the back to the fisherman who "caught" the ring, It's nice to hear there are a few decent people left in the world.
