(December 5, 2008)—Authorities Friday released the names of two men who died Thursday when an 18-wheeler loaded with building materials rolled over on a rural highway just outside of Crawford.
Temon Roark, Jr., of Waco, who authorities said was driving the 2005 International truck, and Malcolm Howard, 42, of Waco were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident around 10:30 a.m. Thursday on FM 185 about 5 miles east of Crawford.
Investigators say the truck drifted off the road to the right.
The driver evidently over corrected, and crossed back to the left.
The truck skidded sideways and overturned.
The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
McLennan County Justice of the Peace Frank Culpepper of McGregor pronounced both men dead at the scene.
Culpepper said the truck was upside down when he arrived at the scene.
The two men were trapped in the crushed cab of the truck.
Crawford firefighters had to extricate their bodies from the wreckage.
Autopsies were not ordered, but routine toxicology tests will be performed.
