Three Fort Hood Soldiers Killed In Iraq

(August 15, 2006)—Three soldiers assigned to Fort Hood’s 4th Infantry Division died in two separate attacks Saturday in Iraq, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Staff Sgt. Kenneth A. Jenkins, 25, of Fouke, Ark., died Saturday in Balad after he was injured in a small-arms attack during combat operations in Baghdad.

Jenkins was assigned to the 4th ID’s 3rd Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team.

Staff Sgt. Michael C. Lloyd, 24, of San Antonio and Staff Sgt. Kevin L. Zeigler, 31, of Overland Park, Kan. died Saturday when a homemade bomb exploded while they were on patrol in Baghdad.

Lloyd and Zeigler were assigned to the 4th ID’s 10th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team.
