Texas Teenager Sentenced For Conspiring To Kill Foster Father

(December 10, 2008)--An 18-year-old Tyler girl was sentenced Wednesday to 18 years in prison for conspiring to kill her foster father.

No one was injured as a result of the plot

April Rhoten was accused of plotting the murder with her boyfriend James Neal Perkins, 18.

Rhoten could have been sentenced to as much as 20 years in prison.

Perkins goes on trial next week on a similar charge of conspiracy to commit murder against Dennis Rhoten.
