(December 11, 2008)—Officers responding to a report of a man brandishing a semiautomatic pistol on a Waco street corner Thursday afternoon led to an arrest and the recovery of marijuana and crack cocaine.

Officers made the arrest at the intersection of Faulkner and Hood Thursday afternoon after a brief search of the area from the air and the ground.

A search of the suspect’s car produced the drugs.

Officers were still searching for the gun Thursday afternoon, assisted by a helicopter pilot who was surveying the area from the air, checking roofs for the firearm.

No one was injured.

Remember,"An armed society is a more polite society". Remember," When we outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns". Think, everytime a crime is committed with a firearm how many existing gun laws were broken in order to commit the crime, and those laws helped nothing because outlaws do not abide by the laws. More laws will only affect law abiding gun owners not the criminals. WAKE UP !!!

tell me why the media can withhold serious information like names of those that are arrested for crimes that seem to make your news casting so interesting,But then exploit names of others, why is this so discreet if it made the news everyone nvolved should be named since you are making it news, now does that paragon have a name and why was'nt it published is this a conspiracy or what,a few months back there was a drug arrest and several were arrested but only one individual was named now what happen to the others and who is this, person of interest. And as far as East Waco being named as the Thug section of town is totally ludacris, All city have areas that or suppressed, oppressed, depressed, neglected and poverty stricken but there are taxpayers and law abiding citizens in East waco just as West Waco but the city revenues or not being allocated in that area as it should. And there are Thugs in the West Waco part of town as well. And certainly Gangs exist in West Waco,Thats where most from

Well, the truth of the matter is ,(player of the year), City of Waco does not include prosperity with any side of town, unless Baylor is able to be the direct beneficiary ! If the Chamber of Commerce would alow for outside developers to give inner city youths ( wanna be thugs with out a cause)an out-let ,things would began to look up ! With all the money that Margaret Mills was STEALING, I know it could have been put to better use !! You and I both know that getting a job would be the right thing to do, but with overly populated temp-agencies that you have to go through makes it discouraging, and Commerce has to know that, just dont give a damn !"We got ours ,you go and get yours " seems to be their attitudes !

All those 20,000 plus anti-gun laws seem to be keeping the criminals from having guns right? Like this one? ANYTIME ANYONE starts saying they want GUN CONTROL, keep in mind it's really PEOPLE CONTROL they want. They also probably own guns and just don't want the average person to be able to have a gun too. Look at Sarah Brady, all the anti-gun Representives and Senators who have concealed permits and guns! Even the Brady Bunch's Paul Helmke (Gun Control's most vocal anti-gun spokesman) has a FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSE which allows him to buy, sell, and conceal guns of any type (including machine guns) in Washington D.C. and has had that capability for 20 years! He's so anti-gun, but insists on HIS RIGHT TO OWN and CARRY CONCEALED! Hypocrites, everyone of them! So next time you hear "GUN CONTROL" remember they mean for you, not for them! Unconstitutional gun control laws just allow the government to make everyone a SLAVE. I am not a slave. I own guns, I will always own guns!

You dont need a license to carry a gun!, go read the 2nd amendment, licenses are nothing more than legislation to make legal what one(LAWMAKERS) deems as ILLEGAL, when if you read the constitution, it is an inherent GOD given right, which makes it LAWFUL WITHOUT ANY LICENSE, PERIOD.

And does this paragon of virtue have a name?

Probably gang related.

It's ridiculous. The amount of crime in Waco. I mean the city is over 100,000 people, but it's really a quaint little town. So many wannabe thugs making things bad and hard for others. I guess it's incidents like these as to why Waco doesn't think about expanding over towards the East side of town. That is bad too. That side of town is suffering because of wannabe thugs.

Again; Every Law-Obiding-Legal-Citizen, Get a Right-To-Carry-License, start carrying a gun, and buy 'plenty' of ammo!!!
