(December 15, 2008)—Package and mail carriers from the post office to various packaging companies are gearing up for what is anticipated to be the biggest shipping day of the year.

According to FedEx, millions of Christmas cards, boxes, letters, and gifts will pile up at distribution hubs while a FedEx jet is expected to touch down every 48 seconds Monday as the company delivers greetings and gifts all around the world.

FedEx says the last day it can guarantee ground shipment delivery by Christmas is Wednesday; Dec. 23 for express shipments.

As for the post office, the last day for parcel post delivery by Christmas Day is also Wednesday; priority mail, if sent by Saturday, can be delivered by Dec. 25.

Last minute shipments can be express mailed on Dec. 23 for delivery by Christmas Day.

While I dont trust the USPS, I have to give out major Kudos to both Fed-Ex and UPS. Have so far never missed a package and their tracking system BLOWS away the post office. UNless you pay extra the only time they update tracking at the post office is AFTER you have recieved the package...lol UPS and Fed-Ex - You guys rock, Merry Christmas
