(December 17, 2008)—Meridian High School Principal Kelly Parker, who spent the night in the Bosque County Jail after he was arrested Tuesday on an improper relationship between educator and student charge, was released Wednesday after posting $25,000 bond.

Parker, who, according to an arrest affidavit, sent more than 80 text messages to a 17-year-old girl, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Parker allegedly sent 81 text messages to the high school senior, including messages describing his genitals.

According to the affidavit, one of the messages stated, "its been a long time since had a principal student relationship."

The victim, who is referred to as Jane Doe throughout the affidavit, told police that Parker offered her money in exchange for "kisses," "hugs," and "sex."

The affidavit states Jane Doe told police that she used to babysit for Parker, and he would tell her dirty jokes, buy her things, and give her cash.

She said he even bought the cell phone for her that he was using to text her.

According to the affidavit, Parker allegedly called Jane Doe as she was meeting with police.

It also states that Jane Doe told police she did not want a sexual relationship with Parker, telling police she told him on a number of times she wasn't interested, but that he persisted texting her.

Meridian School Board President Marie Garland and Meridian ISD Superintendent Dr. Eli Casey told News 10 they planned to meet with the school district's attorney first thing Wednesday morning.

Parker faces an improper relationship between educator and student charge, which is a 2nd degree felony.

This man is sick and should have more than just his license tooken from him for a principal. He shouldn't be payed for what he has done or anything and should also still be in jail as long as the judge sentences him to for what he has done .

This is the problem with small town school districts who have several generations of relatives on the school board and as faculty. They think because they have lived in their small town far longer than most that they can run their districts how they see fit. This is where nepotism factors in. How many of your schools have faculty members who are somehow related to administators and board members? In our small town we had an administrator moved from the high school to the middle school for have "relations" with a staff member in their office!!!!!!!! This is because this individual's relationship with an assistant superintendent went WAYYYYYYYYYY back!!!! Nothing was ever down or mentioned in local papers. WE MUST HAVE MORE OVERSIGHT ON SMALL TOWN SCHOOL BOARDS!

Who dropped the ball on contacting these 2 babies mother? The school and the police didn't even bother, she had to find out the day after he was arrested by a friend. Instead, they sent the kids home with Coach Moorehead until Parker's brother got there. That's messed up! Now those 2 babies are in his hands because of this. Also, I don't think Parker's brother shuld have been able to check the children out of school, he has no guardianship whatsoever. Please keep these children and their mommy in your prayers, they need it! Try focusing more on them then this pedafile or the coach for that matter.
