(December 17, 2008)-- A would-be robber was in custody Wednesday in San Antonio after a worker at the fast food restaurant he was trying to hold up laughed at him and told him to get a job.

The man approached a cashier Tuesday night at a McDonald’s restaurant and demanded money, police said.

The cashier, who evidently didn’t realize the man was trying to rob the restaurant, laughed.

In response, the man pulled out a box cutter and demanded the cashier’s wallet.

The employee handed over the billfold, but it had no money in it.

The robber ran, but police caught him.

He was facing aggravated robbery charges Wednesday.

Butch, You were kind of hard on the McDonalds worker. For all we know, it could be a high school kid working part time, a senior citizen working the allowable hours to supplement social security, or anyone in between. Anyone working for a living is to be applauded. We might as well all be wearing signs that say "WILL WORK FOR FOOD" because when it comess down to it that's what most of us do. And electricity...and phones...and cable... Lots of people will say that thier jobs are fulfilling, myself included. But any non-volunteer who says that they work FOR fulfillment is probably quite mistaken. We're all workin' for a livin'.

Hey Butch, explain why you have to degrade someone holding a job? At least they have a job instead of being supported by tax payers. Low wage or not they're earning that wage.

Good for the clerk. But this total waste of oxygen robber probably wouldn't know what a J-O-B was if it bit him on the back side.

LOL!!! Oh my GOODNESS this is hilarious!! A worker at McDonalds told him to get a job. Dude that is classic!! I always hear about how some McDonald's employees don't have any sense...well this one definitely took a risk, but he/she certainly has a sense off humor!!!

Oh my!That is too hilarious, but also dangerous, Thank God the employee was not harmed, and maybe the would be robber will take his advice, if he ever gets out of jail
