Good morning, it’s Saturday, Jan. 3, the 3rd day of 2009. There are 362 days left in the year. We’ll start the day in the 60s with a chance of showers and thunderstorms as well as a heightened risk of wildfires, mainly west of Interstate 35. Highs this afternoon will rise to around 80, but we’ll drop off into the upper 40s tonight.

Seventy-one years ago today, on January 3, 1938, the March of Dimes campaign to fight polio was organized.
