Good morning, it’s Wednesday, Jan. 7th, the 7th day of 2009. There are 358 days left in the year. We’ll start the day in the upper 30s, but by this afternoon, the temperature should rise into the mid 60s.

On January 7, 1870, 139 years ago, the 475-foot Waco suspension bridge opened. It was among the longest single-span suspension bridges in the world at the time.

Philip Agee, a renegade CIA agent whose naming of operatives led to a law against exposing spies, died in Cuba at age 72.
