(January 9, 2009)--Police arrested four men and one of them was charged after a road rage related shooting early Friday morning in Waco.

Officers who were in an alley between Washington and Austin Avenues at North 18th Street heard the gunfire around 2 a.m. Monday.

Moments later an SUV and a 2000 Lincoln Town Car drove past the officers, headed south on North 18th Street, police said.

Officers pulled over the Lincoln and arrested all four occupants after finding a pistol in the front seat.

They learned that the driver of the SUV had cut off the Lincoln in traffic.

In response, the driver of the Lincoln pulled a pistol and fired three or four shots through the sunroof of the car to frighten the occupants of the SUV.

Derrick Hightower, 24, the driver of the Lincoln, was charged with discharging a weapon inside a city, which is a Class A misdemeanor.

Police arrested the other three occupants of the car, Isiah Russ III, 28, Joshua Duanta Richardson, 23, and Victor Lewis Ritcherson, Jr. 24 on outstanding traffic warrants.

All four of the men are from Waco.

"C" is just exactly what I was talking about. "C" IS BLAMING THE HONEST PEOPLE WHO ARE FORCED TO GO ARMED BECAUSE THE COPS CAN'T PROTECT THEM FROM THE CRIMINALS! "C" CAN'T STAND IT THAT PEOPLE (PEONS IN HIS/HER MIND) WILL BE ABLE TO FIGHT BACK! The Castle Doctrine is RESPONSIBLE for criminals having a gun and shooting people with it? GIVE ME A BREAK! Why do you think that they are called "OUTLAWS", "CRIMINALS", and "FELONS"? Because they don't follow the law, they harm people for fun, pleasure, and personal gain. That's why we honest people are going armed, to kill the bad guys! Get REAL! Pull your head out of the sock you stuck it in and notice that 80 million gun owners own 300 million plus guns, yet the number of crimes using a gun (NOT GUN-CRIMES, CRIMES USING A GUN) is less than .001% of the number of guns in America. That is reality, honest people don't commit crimes dummy! The 2nd Amendment is still being infringed, open and concealed carry should be legal WITHOUT LICENSES!

24 no way he looks like somebody grandpa. What's up with a misdemeanor that sounds like attempted murder to me and waco wonder why crime is up so lets talk about next time when derrick fire a weapon i guess it will be murder than some poor soul is lost but this could have been avoided if waco courts do what needs to be done and stop letting these criminals off the hook so lightly. Once again there is no way this man is 24 please correct the age.I know life is hard but dang 24.lmao

Some people live in a fantasy world!!!! "C" !! Do you really think that the castle law is responsible for this person having a gun? Get real and wake up!!! These people" Wanna be Bangers" Already have the guns and carry them everyday!! They don't buy the guns legally like you and I. They sure as He## don't carry them legally like you and I. They are wolves that prey on the sheep!!! All the sheep can do is cry for protection from obama and the police. Luckily there are a few sheep dogs that have a concealed handgun liscence and protect us from the wolves. I for one will keep my guns and when a wolf comes calling, HA HA I WILL ANSWER HIM!!!!!

A misdemeanor---for shooting at someone in another car???? That's insane. Should be like attempted murder or something a little heavier...No wonder Waco has the big city crime like they do

This is what was to be expected when the Texas polititions changed the "Traveling Law" now allowing almost anyone to carry a handgun in their car if it is concealed. They don't even have to tell a police officer stopping them that it is there. This is stupid since a person with a license to carry a concealled handgun must tell the stopping officer he is carrying or face having his/her license suspended. Licensed persons have had background checks and almost all are responsible. Allowing most anyone to have a loaded gun within reach in a car is insane. Now they want to let this same group go around carrying a handgun in plain sight. I am for gun rights and a police officer and I see this all the time, someone gets mad, has a gun and starts firing, most of the time hitting an innocent person. Lets think of public safety instead of allowing the bangers and irresponsible continue shooting up our streets. If you want to carry get a license and if you can't you don't deserve to carry

More examples of "Gang Banger" wanna be's having a QUIET night on the town! Doesn't it just make you want to cower and whine for more Gun Control!!!??? I'll bet they think they were doing nothing, bang, oops! Just another reason I am continually armed. Just another reason to make sure that Obama and Biden don't pass more "Gun Control" (read PEON CONTROL here since that's all it really is). When the criminals are the only ones armed, they won't have to fear us PEONS...but Obama will protect us! Bull! I don't need the government's or OBAMA'S "PROTECTION", I just need my freedom that I was born with and some of which were enumerated in the Bill of Rights, including the all important 2nd Amendment. Something the Anti-Gunners will never understand because they are so frightened of being powerless to hold the PEONS down (THIS INCLUDES OBAMA, BIDEN, REID, HOLDER, PELOSI, FEINSTEIN, SCHUMER, KENNEDY, Et. Al., all democrats of course!) Go ahead and HOPE for CHANGE...I'll lock and load.

What an outstanding group! A driver that shoots when he gets mad, and each passenger with his own personal warrant! Their families must be so proud!
