(January 9, 2009)--Police arrested four men and one of them was charged after a road rage related shooting early Friday morning in Waco.

Officers who were in an alley between Washington and Austin Avenues at North 18th Street heard the gunfire around 2 a.m. Monday.

Moments later an SUV and a 2000 Lincoln Town Car drove past the officers, headed south on North 18th Street, police said.

Officers pulled over the Lincoln and arrested all four occupants after finding a pistol in the front seat.

They learned that the driver of the SUV had cut off the Lincoln in traffic.

In response, the driver of the Lincoln pulled a pistol and fired three or four shots through the sunroof of the car to frighten the occupants of the SUV.

Derrick Hightower, 24, the driver of the Lincoln, was charged with discharging a weapon inside a city, which is a Class A misdemeanor.

Police arrested the other three occupants of the car, Isiah Russ III, 28, Joshua Duanta Richardson, 23, and Victor Lewis Ritcherson, Jr. 24 on outstanding traffic warrants.

All four of the men are from Waco.

"C" is just exactly what I was talking about. "C" IS BLAMING THE HONEST PEOPLE WHO ARE FORCED TO GO ARMED BECAUSE THE COPS CAN'T PROTECT THEM FROM THE CRIMINALS! "C" CAN'T STAND IT THAT PEOPLE (PEONS IN HIS/HER MIND) WILL BE ABLE TO FIGHT BACK! The Castle Doctrine is RESPONSIBLE for criminals having a gun and shooting people with it? GIVE ME A BREAK! Why do you think that they are called "OUTLAWS", "CRIMINALS", and "FELONS"? Because they don't follow the law, they harm people for fun, pleasure, and personal gain. That's why we honest people are going armed, to kill the bad guys! Get REAL! Pull your head out of the sock you stuck it in and notice that 80 million gun owners own 300 million plus guns, yet the number of crimes using a gun (NOT GUN-CRIMES, CRIMES USING A GUN) is less than .001% of the number of guns in America. That is reality, honest people don't commit crimes dummy! The 2nd Amendment is still being infringed, open and concealed carry should be legal WITHOUT LICENSES!

24 no way he looks like somebody grandpa. What's up with a misdemeanor that sounds like attempted murder to me and waco wonder why crime is up so lets talk about next time when derrick fire a weapon i guess it will be murder than some poor soul is lost but this could have been avoided if waco courts do what needs to be done and stop letting these criminals off the hook so lightly. Once again there is no way this man is 24 please correct the age.I know life is hard but dang 24.lmao
