(January 9, 2009)--Convicted killer Curtis Moore is scheduled to receive a lethal injection Wednesday in what would be the first execution in the U.S. in 2009 and the first of six planned this month in Texas.

Moore was on parole for robbery when he was arrested for killing three people during a drug-related robbery in 1995 in Fort Worth.

The six Texas inmates set to die in January are among at least 14 with execution dates already this year.

Three more are set to die in early February, four in March and another in April.

The 18 prisoners put to death in Texas last year accounted for nearly half of the 37 executions carried out in the country.

A record 40 condemned prisoners were executed in Texas during 2000.

With today's technology someone should design a contraption with enough volatage to vaporize the inmate. It would save burial space or space at the landfill with whatever they do with the remains. Speed up the appeals process so they can be exterminated much sooner.

They have to do it like this so lawyers can drain the tax payers money, otherwise there would be no need for so many lawyers.

Well 14 years at $50,000 a year sounds like $700,000 to keep him,,,, when it would have only cost $85.00 to Lethal-Inject!!! CAN-YOU-HEAR-ME-NOW????????

Can't they just do an assembly line type deal. Run the rest of those little angels through there and be done with it. Might cut back on the need for illegal cell phones. Ha Ha!
