(August 26, 2006)—When Stanlisha Topper marries Pvt. Dwayne Baldridge Saturday, the setting at the studios of KNCT at Central Texas College may not be particularly romantic, but with the help of the staff of the TV station and the Freedom Calls Foundation, Stanlisha’s father, Army Spc. Lance Rollason, will be able to attend the wedding, even though he’s serving in Iraq, 8,000 miles away.

The two-way feed will allow Rollason not only to watch the wedding, but also to be part of it.

“It was very important to Stanlisha that her dad be able to attend her wedding; I called the foundation and they made all the arrangements, this is a dream come true,” said the bride’s mother, Jera Ryan.

The Freedom Calls Foundation is committed to making it possible for troops in war zones to attend and participate in such miliestone events.

“The long term vision of the Freedom Calls Foundation is that our war fighters will be able to come home from a day on the battlefield and virtually be with their families every night using state of the art technology,” the organization said.

The foundation’s services are available to troops free of charge 24 hours a day.
