(January 11, 2009)--President George W. Bush has taken his last scheduled flight aboard Air Force One, a milestone of which he had to be reminded.

After Barack Obama's Jan. 20 inauguration, Mr. Bush will again fly on the blue-and-white aircraft, but because he won't be president, it won't carry the Air Force One designation.

White House press secretary Dana Perino said she doesn't think, "It had dawned on him that it was his last flight on Air Force One."

The president's last trip was to Norfolk, Va., where he commissioned the Navy's newest ship, the USS George H. W. Bush, named after his father.

After landing, First Lady Laura Bush, their daughters, Barbara Bush and Jenna Hager, and her husband, Henry Hager, joined the president in thanking the dozens of flight attendants, maintenance workers and others who handle everything from food to fuel for Air Force One.

When President Bush gave his televised farewell address to the nation the other night, I stood in the middle of my living room and saluted the Commander-in-Chief on my T.V. set. Thank God we had a President with the "guts" to do what needed to be done after 9/11. I've served in combat in Afghanistan and I can only hope that the military will stay strong under Secretary of Defense Robert Gates (Who, thankfully was retained by President Obama). Now is not the time to stop fighting and come running home. We need to finish what we started in an orderly fashion. I pray that the military does not return to the, "Hollow Force" draw-down days of the Clinton Era, but you have to wonder where President Obama is going to get all this stimulus money from. Everyone knows these wars are costing taxpayers a fortune. Only time will tell. To President Bush: "Thanks for a job well done and God Bless you." To all Patriotic Americans, thanks for your support of the troops! We love ya'll.

Of course... never a thought that this president has taken on more for our nation than any other president in modern times....(inherited recession, a terrorist attack on our homeland, two wars, a democrat caused mortgage meltdown that is the SOLE cause of the bad economy, which no analyist denies). Rachel hun, take your xanax. Diablow, you are an "error".....

Thank you President Bush for your willingness to serve. Not everything you did I agreed with. For the rest of you, maybe you should try to lead a large organization, work in government in a leadership role or something similar before you criticize. Neither could you please everyone. It is easier to gripe than do. I suggest that everyone who wants to gripe get out there and try to make things better. We are blessed to be in America where we have the ability to vote for the person we believe will lead us the way we think the country should be run. May God bless American, President Bush and President-elect Obama.

Let's see, Mikey - (1.) Since there are Bush critics and Bush supporters speaking on here - which of them do you consider arrogant and stupid? (2.) What makes you think you have a clue to what's going on? (3.) Who died and made you God, judge, and jury? At least the rest of us who are posting on here can determine who stands where!!!! I think that we can therefore discount your judgments and put you in the clueless crew!!!!
