(January 11, 2008) - An Early Morning rollover accident has claimed the life of a Waco woman.

The Department of Public Safety says it happened at 3:44 a.m. just south of West.

DPS Says 59-year-old Carolyn Davis was in a 1999 Ford Expedition on Interstate-35 when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road. It happened on the the southbound side of the interstate near milemarker 353. DPS says the driver over-corrected to the right, causing the Expedition to roll.

DPS says Davis was not wearing a seatbelt, and was ejected from the right front passenger seat. She was pronounced dead a the scene.

Kevin Lamar Scott, 37 years old, was arrested at the scene. He is charged with intoxication manslaughter and is out of the Mclennan County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

DPS says one or two other people were in the SUV at the time, but what if any injuries they suffered wasn't known.

This is horrible. It doesn't state anywhere in the story that the people in the SUV were out "clubbing", but anyway, I am praying for the families of both parties involved. I wish people would wake up and stop drinking and driving. Either way it goes, no punishment the court can grant him will compare to the blood left on his hands and the guilt he has to carry with him for the rest of his life. I do hope a valuable lesson was learned here....

Again, Just as I said before; cars do not kill people no more than guns do. People kill people. SLOW DOWN, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE, BUCKLE-UP!! Sorrow goes to the victim and Family.

What a horrible way to start the new year. Despite the circumstances as to what happened, this family will be in my prayers. I hope they can find peace and lift this up to God to handle.

That bond sure is low for him to have taken someones life, and from what I hear about this man he is more drunk than he is sober...all the time. To Ms Davis family I am sorry for your loss.

Was going out clubing all worth it? I bet people wished police would have pulled this suv over and may be this would not have happened, but nobody like the police.
