(August 29, 2006)—Gov. Rick Perry tended to a bloodied, injured jogger on Austin's Town Lake hike-and-bike trail earlier this week.
Janet Wilson, travel editor for the Austin American-Statesman,tripped over a rock Monday morning.
"Before I knew it, I was laying on the ground writhing around. I opened my eyes and there's the governor,” she said.
Perry held her hand and loosened the shoe on her turned right foot.
He rubbed her foot while aides brought ice wrapped with a gubernatorial towel.
Her left leg was scraped and bloody.
Wilson declined Perry's offer to call 911. She reached her doctor.
