WASHINGTON (January 30, 2009)—Audio/Visual accessories distributor Milestone AV Technologies, based Savage, Minn., has issued a recall for its LCD television wall mounts, manufactured in China.
The wall mount can crack when used with televisions 26 inches and larger or with televisions that include a DVD player.
The television can then fall from the wall mount and pose a serious risk of injury to consumers standing within its vicinity.
The mounts were sold exclusively at Best Buy stores nationwide from June 2007 through December 2008 for between $60 and $90.
There have been at least 28 incidents in which the mount has cracked and the television has fallen from its mount however no injuries have been reported in connection with the occurrences.
Consumers should immediately stop using the wall mounts and contact Milestone toll-free at (877) 277-3707 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday to receive a free repair kit.
