Governor’s Disaster Declaration Includes Central Texas Counties
Gov. Rick Perry has issued a disaster declaration because of the wildfire threat in Central Texas and around much of the rest of the state, as well.

AUSTIN (February 2, 2009)— Gov. Rick Perry has issued a disaster declaration because of the wildfire threat in Central Texas and around much of the rest of the state, as well.

Perry’s declaration includes Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Lampasas, Leon, Limestone, McLennan, Mills, Navarro, Robertson, San Saba and Williamson Counties in Central Texas.

The wildfire threat remains high in Central Texas because of the dry conditions.
